From the off let me say that Big Slick Events are proud to announce that we have joined forces with Poker in the Pub. If you have an existing pub game or even Club or home game you can qualify for the poker in the pub final . Its Quite simple to do so .

The next regional final will be held in the Burlington Hotel July 22nd-25th and will have a €65,000 Guaranteed final . Players cannot buy into this event and must follow the criteria that Poker in the Pub set out for this event .

We are now looking for weeky existing games that are up and running to run leagues into the Poker in the Pub final in Dublin . Poker in the pub are the only league in Ireland to Guarantee €65,000 Prizepool for a Grand Final . The last regional final attracted a world record field and teh biggest Pub prizepool of €103,000 for all events over the weekend of play .

Here is our planned schedule for 2010 for your perusal. We still have more to add and will announce these in the coming weeks. Next year we expect to payout over €1,000,000 in prize pools. Please note that all structures and Guarantees are subject to change in the coming weeks when we confirm all Event details and dates. We will announce official threads for the structure of each event closer to the dates. We are announcing dates now to keep our poker playing public well informed, so you can plan for 2010.

Next year we are delighted to announce 4 Provincial Tournaments. Here we will have the four provinces battling it out to define the individual poker champion of each province. This is something that we have been planning for some time now and we are delighted to have involved some of the best poker Operators with us.

We have two new Events next year the Irish Series Of Poker 2010 which replaces our Waterford Open Festival which we held each summer. This hits Waterford in July with a Main Event buy in of €1,000. We expect this to be a 250 capacity sell out with the Sponsor to be announced shortly. We have already negotiated 100 online seats and we would expect to fill this event with offline sats and direct buy ins creating a prize pool of €250,000. The Sponsor and full details will be announced at the launch in January. We are also delighted to introduce the Poker Club/Pub Championship for 2010, with an expected prize pool of €100,000 and 500 players in the grand final.

Also the very successful Ladbrokes Irish Poker Tour will run for the 2nd time in 2010 and will travel the country covering the majority of cities and towns, details of this tour will be announced in the coming weeks.

BIG SLICK EVENTS GENERAL TOURNAMENT RULES

1.       Floor People- Floor people are to consider the best interest of the game and fairness as the top priority in the decision-making process. Unusual circumstances can on occasion dictate that decisions in the interest of fairness take priority over the technical rules. The floor person’s decision is final.

2.       Chip Race- When it is time to colour-up chips they will be raced off with a maximum of one chip going to any player. The chip race will always start in the No.1 seat. A player cannot be raced out of a tournament: Players are encouraged to witness the chip race.

3.       Odd Chips- The odd chip(s) will go to the high hand. In flop games when there are two or more high hands or two or more low hands the odd chip(s) will go to the left of the button.

4.       Side Pots- Each side pot will be split separately.

5.       Calling For a Clock- Once a reasonable amount of time has passed and a clock is called for, a player will be given a maximum of one minute to make a decision. If action has not been taken before time expires, there will be a 10-second countdown. If a player has not acted by the time the countdown is over, the player’s hand will be dead.

6.       Dead Button- Tournament play will use a dead button.

7.       Penalties and Disqualification- A penalty MAY be invoked if a player exposes any card with action pending, throws a card off the table, violates the one-player-to-a-hand rule, or similar incidents take place. Penalties WILL be invoked in cases of soft play, abuse, or disruptive behavior. Penalties available to the TD include verbal warnings and “missed hand” penalties. A missed hand penalty will be assessed as follows: The offender will miss one hand for every player, including the offender, who is at the table when the penalty is given multiplied by the number of rounds specified in the penalty; for the period of the penalty the offender shall remain away from the table. Tournament staff can assess one-, two-, three-, or four-round penalties or disqualification. A player who is disqualified shall have his or her chips removed from play. Repeat infractions are subject to escalating penalties.

8.       At Your Seat- A player must be at his or her seat by the time all players have been dealt complete initial hands in order to have a live hand. Players must be at their seat to call time.

9.       Face Up- All cards will be turned face up once a player is all-in and all betting action is complete.

10.    Raise Requirements- If a player puts in a raise of 50% or more of the previous bet but less than the minimum raise, he or she will be required to make a full raise. The raise will be exactly the minimum raise allowed. In no-limit and pot limit an all-in bet of less than a full raise does not reopen the betting to a player who has already acted.

11.    Oversized Chip- A single oversized chip will be considered a call if the player does not announce a raise. If a player puts an oversized chip into the pot and states raise but does not state the amount, the raise will be the maximum allowable up to the size of that chip. After the flop an initial bet of a single oversized chip without comment will constitute the size of the bet. To make a raise with a single oversized chip a verbal declaration must be made before the chip hits the table surface.

12.    No Disclosure – No Advice – One Player to a Hand- Players are obligated to protect the other players in the tournament at all times. Therefore, players, whether in the hand or not, may not:
-Disclose contents of live or folded hands
-Advise or criticize play before the action is complete
-Read a hand that hasn’t been tabled
The one-player-to-a-hand rule will be enforced.

13.    Random Seats- Tournament and satellite seats will be randomly assigned.

14.    String bets. String betting is using your chips to gauge a reaction. Chips should be placed in one continuous motion. However to make your bets clear, Big Slick Events would like all players to make their bets clear and verbally.

15.    Official Language- The English-only rule will be enforced during the play of hands.

16.    Communication Devices- A player may not use a Mobile phone, text-messaging device, or other communication device at the table. If a player does so his/her hand will be automatically killed by the dealer.

17.    Deck Changes- Deck changes will be on the dealer push or level changes or as prescribed by the house. Players may not ask for deck changes

18.    New Limits- When time has elapsed in a round and a new level is announced by a member of the tournament staff, the new level applies to the next hand. A hand begins with the first riffle.

19.    Re-buys- A player may not miss a hand. If a player announces the intent to re-buy before a new hand begins, that player is playing chips behind and is obligated to make the re-buy.

20.    Higher Denomination Chips Visible – Players must keep their higher denomination chips visible at all times.

21.    Declarations- Verbal declarations as to the content of a player’s hand are not binding; however any player deliberately miscalling his or her hand may be penalized.

22.    Rabbit Hunting- No rabbit-hunting is allowed. Rabbit hunting is seeing the next cards on the flop, turn or river.

23.    Dodging Blinds- A player who intentionally dodges (a) blind(s) when moving from a broken table will incur a penalty.

24.    Chips Visible- All chips must be visible at all times. Players may not hold or transport tournament chips in any manner that takes them out of view. A player who does so will forfeit the chips and will face disqualification. The forfeited chips will be taken out of play.

25.    Breaking Tables- Players going from a broken table to fill in seats assume the rights and responsibilities of the position. They can get the big blind, the small blind, or the button. The only place they cannot get a hand is between the small blind and the button.

26.    Balancing Tables- In flop games when balancing tables’ players will be moved from the big blind to the worst position (which is never the small blind), the table to which a player is moved will be as specified by a predetermined procedure. Play will halt on any table that is at least three players short. In stud games players will be moved by position (the last seat to open up at the short table is the seat to be filled).

27.    Raises- There is no cap on the number of raises in no-limit games. A raise must be at least the size of the previous raise. In limit events there will be a limit to raises even when heads-up until the tournament is down to two players; the house limit will apply.

28.    Misdeals – In stud games if any of the players’ two down cards are exposed due to dealer error it is a misdeal. In flop games exposure of one of the first two cards dealt is a misdeal. Players may be dealt two consecutive cards on the button.

29.    Unprotected Hands- If a dealer kills an unprotected hand the player will have no redress and will not be entitled to a refund of bets. However, if a player had raised and the raise had not yet been called, the raise will be returned to the player.

30.    Killing Winning Hand- Dealers cannot kill a winning hand that was tabled and was obviously the winning hand. Players are encouraged to assist in reading tabled hands if it appears that an error is about to be made.

31.    Verbal Declarations- Verbal declarations in turn are binding. Action out of turn may be binding and will be binding if the action to that player has not changed. A check, call, or fold is not considered action-changing.

32.    Exposing Cards- A player who exposes his cards with action pending may incur a penalty, but will not have a dead hand. The penalty will begin at the end of the hand.

33.    Methods of Raising- In no-limit or pot-limit a raise must be made by (1) placing the full amount in the pot in one motion; or (2) verbally declaring the full amount prior to the initial placement of chips into the pot; or (3) verbally declaring “raise” prior to the placement of the amount to call into the pot and then completing the action with one additional motion.

34.    Ethical Play- Poker is an individual game. Soft play will result in penalties which may include forfeiture of chips and/or disqualification. Chip dumping will result in disqualification.

35.    Pot Size- Players are entitled to be informed of the pot size in pot-limit games only. Dealers will not count the pot in limit and no-limit games.

36.    Button in Heads-up- When heads-up the small blind is on the button and acts first. When beginning heads-up play the button may need to be adjusted to ensure that no player takes the big blind twice in a row.

37.    Etiquette Violations- Repeated etiquette violations will result in penalties. Examples include unnecessarily touching other players cards or chips, delay of the game, and excessive chatter. Players are required to act in turn.

38.    Showdown- At the end of last round of betting the player who made the last aggressive action in that betting round must show first. If there was no bet the player to the left of the button shows first and so on clockwise. In stud games the player with the high board must show first..

39.    Action Pending- Players must remain at the table if they still have action pending on a hand.

40.    Playing the Board- A player must show both cards when playing the board in order to get part of the pot.

41.    A Mis-deal will be called should the following occur:
- Where more than one card that should have been dealt face down by the dealer is exposed by the dealer.
- Where one of the first 2 cards to be dealt face down are exposed.
- If during the initial deal it is discovered that there are boxed cards in the deck.
- If a player is dealt too many cards and announces it before voluntary action takes place.
- If a player is dealt too few cards (unless the top card on the remaining deck should have been their card) providing that the dealer is informed immediately and no action has taken place in the meantime.
- Failure to shuffle.
- Failure to cut.

42.    If a dealer exposes a card on the initial deal, it shall be exchanged for the burnt card before the flop.

43.    If a player has not been given the opportunity to call/raise a bet before the flop is dealt, the following rules will apply :
- The procedure for returning the cards to the deck and continuing with the action vary slightly on the flop, turn and river.
- Once all betting is correctly completed, the rest of the flop, turn, and river will be dealt correctly face down, including all burn cards. Then the incorrectly exposed card(s) will be shuffled back into the deck, the deck then cut and the top card(s) used to replace the missing card(s), and play continues normally from there using the pre dealt flop, turn and river to finish the hand.

44.    String Betting – Dealers will be responsible for calling string Bets. Players must state raise or put the chips into the pot in one motion or the dealer will deem the move as a string bet.

BIG SLICK EVENTS CASH GAME RULES

1. All cash games will be started by a Supervisor. Each cash game will have a dealer.
2. All cash will be exchanged for chips/plaques by a Supervisor or Cashier.
3. Once a table is full, a reserve list will be held, and seats allocated in list order.
4. Each Cash table will have a maximum of 9 players at any one time.
5. Players may only have money “Playing Behind” if the supervisor is exchanging it.
6. Upon being informed, a player has 10 minutes to take his seat before it is re-allocated.
7. No weeding can take place. (Players removing chips without taking the full amount out.
8. Playing over is allowed, so long as it is in strict reserve list order A play-over box will be issued to make sure that no weeding takes place.
9. Players can move from table to table, so long as they have their name on the reserve list and it’s their turn, or there is a seat available on the new table.
10. An “Hourly Fee” or Rake will be charged. Hourly Charges will be paid for the upcoming hour, as and when a Supervisor asks. Rake will be taken on a per pot basis. Fees vary from table to table.
11. For all cash games except Dealers Choice, blinds will be off the button. For Dealers Choice they will be on the button.
12. Only chips on the table at the start of a hand shall be in play for the pot, except for as follows: Chips that are in transit from the cashier, and that the table has been informed of prior to the hand starting.
13. A player with chips may add additional chips of any amount to his stack between deals, providing he has not been all-in during the previous hand. If they have then they must buy-in for at least the minimum.
14. A player with no chips, who requests a hand without specifying the amount being played, must play the minimum buy-in for that hand. Verbal declarations are binding.
15. A player who was all-in the previous hand and lost can buy in once for less than the minimum amount.
16. Chips on the table may be used to pay for incidentals. (Cigarettes, Tips, and fees)
17. No player may loan any other player money with chips directly from the table.
18. All chips must be visible, to all players, with the higher denomination chips clearly on display. A player also has the right to ask another player how much they have in play.
19. Button position is determined by high card.
20. A player may leave any game at any time. However, if they return to play the same game within 1 hour, they must sit down with the amount they left with, regardless of table limits.
21. Straddles will be allowed in cash games from €1/€2 upwards. Straddles must be done in betting order and must be twice the big blind or previous straddle.

COMPETITION POLICIES

1.       All Multi Table tournaments will have a maximum of 9 players per table.

2.       All competitions will be played to a conclusion, until one player remains and prizes will be awarded accordingly.

3.       If two or more players at the same table are eliminated at the same time, then the player starting the deal with the most chips will finish in the higher position. If two or more players in contention for a prize-winning position are eliminated simultaneously on different tables, then the prize money will be split equally between them.

4.       If a result has not been reached before the Event approaches closing time, and it is apparent that the contest will not finish “naturally”, players will be informed that a chip count may be required. Other measures deemed appropriate by the Supervisor may also be needed in order to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

5.       If a competition fails to reach a conclusion 30 minutes before closing, last 3 hands will be announced and then a chip count will take place at the end of play and prize money awarded as follows:
- All players will receive the lowest remaining prize, with all residual monies being split proportionate to the chips left for each player. NO player may receive more than 1st prize.

6.       Deals will be allowed with management supervision, using the same method as above for chip counts, however in a festival event where there is a trophy for the champion we would recommend that an amount is taken from the pool first before any deal to be played for , this is to ensure a fair distribution of prize money and protect the integrity of our events. The number of prizes cannot be altered. (Ie: No Savers)

7.       The Tournament Director reserves the right to alter the blind/ante structure.

8.       The Tournament Director  shall have the right to decide if chips belonging to someone taken ill, should be removed from play. Where this applies to someone being taken ill, a view will be taken on the following:
- Depending upon the likelihood of the player returning to the game.
- Depending upon the time the player has been away.
At the Supervisors discretion, players who are taken ill may be granted more time to return

9.       Speech play is allowed by players who still have a live hand, so long as they don’t contravene the Code of Conduct.

10.    All players are advised to read the Code of Conduct to know what is and what is not acceptable. Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct and all other rules may result in Verbal Warnings, or a missed hand penalty. Other penalties include disqualification from the current competition to suspension of membership and even barring.

11.    Maximum cash payout for any competition is €10,000. Anything above this will be paid with a cheque.

12.    Additional rules may be posted to cover special circumstances.

COMPETITION PROCEDURES

1.       Position One starts the dealing.

2.       When removing smaller denomination chips from play, players will “race” for any odd chips remaining. Each player in “the race” will receive one card for each odd chip they have left. Each player will receive their cards in consecutive order (one after the other) before the next player receives their card or cards. The highest number of higher denomination chips that a player may receive is one. Bridge order will apply where necessary, being Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs.

3.       It is the player’s responsibility to immediately inform the Card Room personnel if they have been given the wrong number of chips, either at the start of the competition or as a result of a subsequent re-buy. Once the game has begun if the starting stack is incorrect the amount will not be changed.

4.       At the start of the game and at each time the deck is changed, the cards must be spread “face-up” for players to verify that they are all there.

5.       All Floor staff and dealers are there to help the event in any way please respect the staff and the decisions made.

REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION POLICY

1.       Entry to the competitions may be made at the Cash Desk  

2.       All competitions will be subject to a registration fee.

3.       All players must fill out a registration form .

4.       All players must have proof of I.D

5.       Alternates will be allowed. As players drop out of the competition they will be offered the seat.

6.       Late Registration will be allowed, provided there is no alternates list.

7.       Late Registrants and alternates will, when given a seat have a portion of their chip allocation deducted. The amount of the deduction will vary according to when they are seated.
If the player is seated before a full round of the table, there will be no deduction.
After the first round and before the end of the first level, the small and big blind will be deducted.
If seated in any subsequent round, then the small blind for every level they have missed, in addition to the small and big blind of the current round will be deducted.

8.       If there are no spare seats at currently open tables, then new tables will be opened to accommodate late players, up to the allowable cap. This is done at the Supervisors discretion.

9.       Alternates and late registrations are allowed for the first 2 levels. However if they have not had a seat allocated, then they may be seated during later levels.

10.    There may be a stated re-buy period dependent upon the competition type. The number of re-buys may also be restricted for certain competitions. All re-buy details will be posted on the relevant Card Room literature. An allocated time will be given in which re-buys are permitted. The last 3 hands for re-buys will commence after the allocated period has elapsed.

11.    Rebuys can be taken when a player has a starting stack or less. Only one rebuy per person per hand is allowed, and rebuys can only be taken after receiving cards at least once.

12.    In competitions that incorporate add-ons. All players have the option to make one add-on at the end of the re-buy period, regardless of how many chips they have left at that time.

13.    All our results will be published on the www.Bigslickevent.net website. If you do not wish your name to appear please sign the opt-out form.

14.    Once payment has been received, that player is deemed to be in the competition.

15.    If a registered player is going to be late, or not available to play, and would like to be removed from the competition, they must notify the club before the end of registration to receive a full refund.

16.    Player’s who have not notified the club that they wish to be removed from the competition prior to registration, will be included. These players will receive cards and post blinds appropriately. They will not be entitled to a refund.

GENERAL

In order to ensure that all our Live events remain safe, friendly and regulated environment, all members must be aware of and abide by the following rules. Failure to adhere to these rules may lead to being removed from the event.

1.       Members must be eighteen years or older.

2.       Photographic identification must be shown before the event for proof of identity for all seats pre registered.

3.       Players must register with Big Slick Events for the event  All information on the registration form must be completed and signed so that all players can play the event.

4.       No credit facilities will be made available.

5.       We expect our player’s to be courteous and respectful towards our staff and other members at all times.

6.       Details about the event and its player’s are strictly confidential and anything that passes between members within the club, intentionally or otherwise, must not be used for commercial or journalistic purposes.

7.       Big Slick Events accepts no responsibility for any loss or injury to members or their property sustained on the premises.

8.       Big Slick Events do not have a dress code.

9.       Player’s who are intoxicated on arrival will not be permitted entry. Player’s will be monitored through the night and if found to be acting in an unacceptable manner will be refused further alcoholic drinks.

10.    Drug use will not be tolerated under any circumstances at the event. Players found to be under the influence of drugs will be suspended. Anyone found to be taking drugs or in possession of drugs on the premises will be barred and reported to the police.

11.    All equipment within the Event remains the property of Big Slick Events. Players are expected to treat all property with respect and care.

12.    For rules relating to poker competitions, please see the Poker Rules displayed in the Card Room area. In all cases, the Supervisor’s decisions are final. In the event of a dispute, the matter must be referred to Management.

13.    The use of members’ data will be in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

14.    Big Slick Events operates in strict compliance with Gambling Commission Guidelines. Players are not permitted to ask any employee to knowingly breach these guidelines.

15.    The Event’s Floor Managers have the right to exclude any member or guest whose behavior they deem unacceptable.

16.    The Tournament Director has the final say on every aspect of the event and his/her decision is final.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Management will attempt to maintain a pleasant environment for all our customers and employees, but is not responsible for the conduct of any player. We have established a code of conduct, and may deny the use of our cardroom to anyone who violates it.

The following is not permitted:

1.       Collusion with another player or any other form of cheating

2.       Verbally or physically threatening, any customer or employee

3.       Using profanity or obscene language

4.       Creating a disturbance by arguing, shouting, or making excessive noise

5.       Throwing, tearing, bending, or crumpling cards

6.       The use of Mobile Phones

7.       Destroying or defacing property

8.       Using an illegal substance

9.       Carrying a weapon

POKER ETIQUETTE

The following actions are improper, and grounds for warning, suspending, or barring a violator:

1.       Deliberately acting out of turn

2.       Deliberately splashing chips into the pot

3.       Agreeing to check a hand out when a third player is all-in

4.       Reading a hand for another player at the showdown before it has been placed face-up on the table

5.       Telling anyone to turn a hand face-up at the showdown

6.       Revealing the contents of a live hand in a multi-handed pot before the betting is complete

7.       Stalling the action of a game

8.       Deliberately discarding hands away from the muck. Cards should be released in a low line of flight, at a moderate rate of speed (not at the dealer’s hands)

9.       Stacking chips in a manner that interferes with dealing or viewing cards

10.    Making statements or taking action that could unfairly influence the course of play, when the offender is not involved in the pot

11.    English Only should be spoken during all play

COMPLAINTS

Players wishing to submit a complaint must do so either verbally or in writing to any of the Floor Managers. In all cases the matter will be thoroughly investigated and forwarded to the Event Manager if necessary.

Player’s subject to a complaint by another member or member of staff may be removed from the event suspended . All Management decisions are final.

Big Slick Events reserves the right to dismiss the complaint
